10 Things You May Not Know About The University of Minnesota Gophers Women's Hockey Team 

1. The University of Minnesota Gophers Women's hockey team have won the national championship seven times. Six under the NCAA banner and one under the AWCHA. 

2. They have had two Patty Kazmaier Award Winners and twenty-one finalists since the creation of the award in 1998.

3. They have had seventeenplayers represent their respective countries in International competition.

4. The Minnesota Gophers went 41-0-0 in the 2012-13 season and 23-0-0 at home.

5. They went 62 games in a row without a loss, starting in the 2012-13 season.

6. The Power Play club is the official booster club of the Minnesota Gophers Women's Hockey Team.

7. The Ridder Arena is dedicated to women's hockey only.

8. In the Border Battle, the annual competition between the Athletic Departments of the University of Minnesota and the University of Wisconsin, the Gophers women's hockey team is 35-26-8 against the Lady Badgers.

9. The phrase "Ski-U-Mah", which is in both of the official school songs, is over 115 years old.

10. Coach Brad Frost led the Gophers to perfect season in 2012-13. This the first time it has been achieved in the NCAA.
