This month it's time to focus on Showcase tournaments.
Throughout August and into September, there will be special showcase tournaments. Many will be based on invitation only. These events are opportunities for those players who were invited to showcase their talents in front of coaches and scouts from many of the NCAA colleges.
Plan to attend these tournaments either as a player or as a spectator. Use this as an opportunity to introduce yourself to a coach. Coaches are still looking for players for the upcoming season because of decommits or early departures.
The first ever Ontario Summer Select Showcase will be held this year in Cornwall, Ontario. It is a two day event on August 10 and 11, 2013 at the Benson Complex. Scouts from NCAA, CHL, and NHL will be present to see the top U19 Junior A players from the CCHL, NOJHL and OJHL.
Every year our lives get busier and busier and our calendars fill up faster and faster. To help you keep things organized and on track, we have created Your College Hockey Recruiting Calendar.
We will be updating it regularly so you will be informed of important dates like the SAT's and special events like showcase tournaments.
